SEO Editor

How to edit on-page content, control heading hierarchy, build new pages with block patterns, and deploy page-level schema.

Overview

Every service page has a custom Phronema SEO Editor panel in the WordPress admin. This editor gives direct control over all on-page content (headings, body text, images, CTAs, FAQs) without touching theme code.

For new pages, use the Page Builder template with drag-and-drop block patterns to assemble layouts that match the existing site design.

1 SEO Editor Tabs

Open any service page in Pages > Edit. Scroll below the block editor to the Meta Boxes section. The SEO Editor is organized into tabs:

Tab What It Controls
Hero Section H1 title, hero description, hero background image, phone CTAs
Intro Content Intro heading (with H-tag selector), body content (full WYSIWYG editor)
Sidebar Sidebar card title, bullet point list (e.g. "Why Choose..." benefits)
Videos YouTube embed URLs
After Videos Secondary heading (with H-tag selector) and body content
Guarantee Card Guarantee items displayed in the sidebar card
Replacement Steps Process/steps section content
FAQ FAQ items (auto-generates JSON-LD schema for search results)
Call to Action CTA badge text, heading (with H-tag selector), description, buttons

Each field shows a Custom or Using default badge. When a field is edited, it shows "Custom" and a Reset button appears to revert to the original value.

The tab labels include a count (e.g. "Intro Content 2/2") showing how many fields have been customized out of the total in that section.

2 Heading Hierarchy (H-tag Toggle)

Heading fields have a dropdown selector next to the text input. This controls the HTML tag level (H2, H3, or H4) that renders on the frontend.

How to change a heading level:

  1. 1 Open the page in the editor
  2. 2 Go to the relevant tab (Intro Content, After Videos, or Call to Action)
  3. 3 Click the dropdown next to the heading text (shows H2, H3, or H4)
  4. 4 Select the desired tag level
  5. 5 Save the page

The heading fields with H-tag selectors are:

  • Intro Heading (H2, H3, H4) -- found in the Intro Content tab
  • After-Videos Heading (H2, H3, H4) -- found in the After Videos tab
  • CTA Heading (H2, H3) -- found in the Call to Action tab

3 Creating New Pages (Page Builder Template)

To create a new page that matches the site design, use the Page Builder template. This template provides consistent header, footer, and navigation styling with an optional sidebar.

How to create a new page:

  1. 1 Go to Pages > Add New Page
  2. 2 Give the page a title
  3. 3 In the right sidebar under "Page", find the Template field
  4. 4 Select "Page Builder" from the dropdown
  5. 5 The block editor content area is where blocks and patterns go
  6. 6 Scroll down to Meta Boxes to find the Page Builder Settings panel
  7. 7 Set "Show Sidebar" to Yes or No depending on the layout needed
  8. 8 Save as Draft or Publish when ready

Sidebar toggle: When set to "Yes", the page renders in a two-column layout with a sidebar on the right containing benefit cards, guarantee info, and an emergency contact card. When set to "No", the content spans the full width.

4 Block Patterns

Block patterns are pre-built page sections that can be inserted into any page using the Page Builder template. They match the site's existing design (colors, fonts, spacing).

How to insert a pattern:

  1. 1 Open a page in the editor (must use the Page Builder template)
  2. 2 Click the blue "+" button in the top-left toolbar
  3. 3 Click the "Patterns" tab
  4. 4 Browse the site-specific pattern categories (Cards & Features, Full Layouts, Page Sections, Page Templates)
  5. 5 Click or drag a pattern into the page content area
  6. 6 Edit the text, images, and links directly in the block editor
  7. 7 Save the page

Available pattern categories:

Category What's Included
Cards & Features Emergency contact card, review/testimonial cards, service card grids
Full Layouts Content with sidebar, two-column layouts
Page Sections Hero banners, CTA sections, FAQ accordions, stats rows, checklists, content blocks, video sections
Page Templates Service area page, full page starter layouts

Pattern categories are prefixed with the site name in the editor (e.g. "AZ Pristine -- Page Sections"). The same pattern library is available on all managed sites with site-specific branding applied.

Once inserted, patterns become regular blocks that can be edited, rearranged, or deleted. No developer request is needed to use existing patterns on new pages.

5 Schema Deployment (HFCM)

The Header Footer Code Manager (HFCM) plugin is installed on all sites. It allows page-by-page deployment of JSON-LD structured data without touching theme files.

How to add schema to a page:

  1. 1 Go to HFCM > Add New in the WP admin sidebar
  2. 2 Give the snippet a name (e.g. "Foam Roof - LocalBusiness Schema")
  3. 3 Set Snippet Type to "Script"
  4. 4 Set Location to "Header"
  5. 5 Under Display On, select "Specific Pages" and choose the target page
  6. 6 Paste the JSON-LD markup in the snippet editor
  7. 7 Set Status to Active and save

HFCM is active on all managed sites. Snippets can target specific pages, post types, or run site-wide. Use the "All Snippets" list to manage existing deployments.

6 Editing the Services Navigation

The services navigation menu can be managed directly in WordPress:

  1. 1 Go to Appearance > Menus
  2. 2 Select the "Services" menu from the dropdown
  3. 3 Add, remove, or reorder menu items
  4. 4 Save Menu

New pages created with the Page Builder template can be added to the navigation here. The menu supports child items for dropdown sub-navigation.

The existing block patterns and SEO editor fields cover the most common page-building needs. If a strategy requires a new type of section or field that is not available, submit a request and the development team will add it to the pattern library.
